The Value of Friendship: Join Our Free Social Support Network

social support networkCutting someone off from the outside world might have disastrous consequences if they are already prone to issues and diseases. Unfortunately, there are many ways that people can be cut off from those who are most important to them. For those with developmental disabilities like cerebral palsy and autism, making friends outside of the conventional settings of family, school, and extracurricular activities can be a turning point toward increased autonomy. Everyone stayed indoors throughout the pandemic, avoiding social interactions because they had work or school to complete, or they were concerned about the COVID-19 virus’s potential impact on their health. The weeks became months, and the months became years, with no end in sight. Anyone who is isolated finds it difficult to socialize, especially those who have health issues or are more prone to viral infections.

Creating a Social Support Network

In the middle of the pandemic, cerebral palsy sufferer Trevor Kelliher formed All Friends Network. For those who want to make new acquaintances but have developmental disabilities, this is a free social network and app. In addition to providing the opportunity to attend real-world events and meet these new acquaintances in person after the pandemic restrictions were lifted, the goal was to foster social interactions that would result on the creation of new connections and the strengthening of current ones. A social network specifically designed for people with autism and cerebral palsy is needed to make it easier to meet others who share similar interests and backgrounds. At All Friends Network, we want to make it easier for people with developmental problems of all ages to form friendships.

By installing our free app, users of our social support network may interact and communicate with one another via mobile devices. Right now, the Live-LINK app is available, however it can only be used by All Friends Network members. This helps to keep out those who don’t have empathy for people with developmental disabilities and might cause trouble. Numerous individuals who have attempted to make friends in wider, more public networks have encountered bullying and other unpleasant situations. Encouraging friendships amongst individuals with developmental disabilities, including Down syndrome, autism, and cerebral palsy, is the goal of All Friends Network. The only way to become a member of our private network for people with disabilities is to give our staff a call.
